A man went on a journey….

Wilson Bugembe, The Yellow Boy (Finland)

Director - Tommy Donald Collin

Synopsis - "Wilson Bugembe, the Yellow Boy" is part of the Worship Factor documentary series, a collection that celebrates the cultural diversity of church musicians and worship leaders from around the world. Through inspiring worship music and thought-provoking conversations about faith and lifestyle, this series aims to uplift Christian values such as hope, care, and compassion and to contribute to a better society.

The Yellow boy episode explores the remarkable journey of Wilson Bugembe, a celebrated gospel artist from Uganda and serving as the leader of Worship House in Kampala. He has been honored with prestigious awards, including the Best Gospel Artist Pearl of Africa Music Awards, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to gospel music. One of Wilson's notable songs, "Omwoyo we," beautifully captures the essence of the Holy Spirit.

Wilson's life is a testament to the power and grace of God. As an orphan who lost his parents to HIV, he found himself surviving on the streets of Kampala, earning him the nickname "yellow" due to the color of his shirt. For over two years, he relied on discarded food and sought shelter under a tree. However, by God's grace, Wilson's life underwent a miraculous transformation. Today, he is celebrated as a prominent figure in his country and actively engages in various charitable works, inspiring others with his story of resilience and hope.

Blue Cross Christian Film Festival Awards 2023

MISSION

Blue Cross is a film festival held in Finland which aims to provide a platform for christian filmmakers around the world to share their inspiring works with the Finnish audience and beyond.

The color blue symbolizes peace, serenity & eternity.  The cross has become a universal and timeless  icon symbolizing hope, faith and love based on the life-saving story of our Lord Jesus Christ.   It is also the main element of the Finnish flag.

The christian faith is said to have been brought to Finland sometime between the 10th and the 13th century by the Swedes and the Russians.  Subsequently, diverse christian groups came and spread throughout the country.  Over the years since the great commission due to the subjective and compromising trends in socio-cultural values and religious paradigms, along with the current political influences, the simple and life-saving message taught by the Lord Himself, the apostles and the early believers based on the righteousness and pure life of the promised Christ (Messiah) is slowly and drastically changing.

Blue Cross Film Festival intends to create opportunities and inspire christian filmmakers & storytellers to share and keep making films that will unify and strengthen the universal body of Christ through the simple, pure, timeless and life-empowering gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on screen.
